Standard cellular architecture focuses on optimising modem and graphics performance before that of audio; leaving audio blocks to be distributed randomly across the chip. This takes up real estate, increases power consumption, and reduces performance. 

Wolfson's Audio Hubs provide an optimised, audio-centric solution that is entirely autonomous to any cellular handset tier, baseband or applications processor system.  Having a single AudioHub device, with integrated headphone and stereo speaker drivers, reduces the onboard footprint of a device, lowering BOM and significantly improving both power management and performance.
